This apple wood bowl has been a source of colour experimentation using different colour woods.
The yellow bee is mahonia
The purple of the flower is Purpleheart wood.
Before the bowl was turned I drilled holes and filled them with turned inserts of chosen colour and then the delights were highlighted with pyography and I even added little eyes for the bee!
A lovely bit of fun - certainly a one off piece!
