Boxwood mouse. Boxwood is usually small privet hedge, so for it to grow large enough to woodturn something from takes time, then more time for the wood to season before being turned. This particular boxwood tree was felled in the 1980’s by my dad with a little help from myself!
Glass eyes and nose, leather ears and tail finish the piece.
Wood is ‘straight off the tool’ and left without any finish. The natural tight grain of boxwood allows for a smooth silky feel , this and the stunning wood grain lets the beauty of the wood speak for itself.
